Computers in the Community

10,927

This is the number of households in Rowan County that, as of the 2021 Digital Inclusion Profile, are only able to access the internet through their mobile devices. With an average of 2.5 persons per household, this means there are around 27,317 people without computer access in our county alone.
Students in Training's Computers in the Community Program is hard at work lowering these numbers.

Depending on the type of computer and operating system you prefer, the computers could be low cost or no cost. Having an older computer running Linux (Zorin) is going to have a much lower turnaround cost than a newer computer with Windows 11.
